I picked up a cheap Humax Foxsat-HDR as we have a satellite connection.

    Software: Ver U7.53

It has frozen on BBC 1 and won't respond to the remote control or the buttons under the hidden panel.

If we turn it off/unplug it the word "BOOT" does appear onscreen, but when it finishes loading it's still stuck on BBC1.

Is there any way to reset it using the buttons on the front panel? Or any other way to revive it?

    Hi meejaboy,

First thing to do is check remote control is in correct mode. Top of remote should be a button for PVR. Press this PVR button and see if functions now work for your PVR machine.

You can also test PVR unit by using the channel buttons located on the unit near display.

Hope this helps. Please let forum know how you get on, if you need more help. John L

    Hi John.

The remote control is in the correct setting. The channel buttons on the front of the box don't change the channel.

It seems to be stuck, so wondering how to fully reset?

I should also add that the box was in full working order for about three weeks before it did this.

It looks like you may need to reset box. Here is a link: "Freesat problem « My Humax Forum" https://myhumax.org/forum/topic/freesat-problem/page/2

It might also be problems with firmware. Reflashing firmware might fix it, but you need a copy of the firmware. Not sure if this is still available.

I've enabled Telnet on my PC using those instructions. However, the next stage seems to be:
"Have you installed the telnet package on the Foxsat?"

Can I do that, given that the box is currently frozen? If so, can you talk me through it?
