Hi guys - I’m new here, looking for experience and advice to see if a solution is out there! After a lightning strike, my FVP-5000T has no HDMI output. The storm also took out two of my TVs (thankfully repaired under Richer Sounds warranty).

The power supply is fine and the box responds to on/off demands from the remote - the light changes from red to blue. Also, the hard disk spins when powered up. However there is just no output from the HDMI when connected to a working TV. I’ve had the lid off and there are no obvious signs of scorching or other damage.

Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts. I have no doubt that the CPU board (labelled FVP-4000T) has failed, so am wondering if a board swap is possible or in any way cost effective. I think I’ve learnt from your forum that I wouldn’t be able to recover the HD recordings with a new board but I can live with that (although I may not be able to continue living with my wife!). Thanks for any ideas.
