I have inherited a 4 year old FVP-5000. It will not record anything at all, either on instant record or on timer. Apparently, it never has but of course is now way out of warranty.
I have checked software update and it says it's OK. Also can't get into 'storage' option in PVR Settings to see if HDD is OK.

I have checked software update and it says it's OK. Also can't get into 'storage' option in PVR Settings to see if HDD is OK.Both symptoms that the hard drive isn't working properly. If you feel competent, remove the hard drive, connect it to a PC and have a look at the SMART data.
