I was considering replacing my 2000T with the 5000T. I down-loaded the manual to see how it worked but cant find anything in the instructions to say that there is a 'one button switch' to switch off WiFi. It seems that unless you go into Settings, the WiFi stays live. Can't see how this is good for security.

Hi I think you'll find that if you connect to your router on a hotwire, your Wi-Fi will be switched off automatically.
Then if you have set up the Wi-Fi as well, the 5000t will remember your settings.| Thu 23 Nov 2017 16:08:10 #2 | -
Why would you want to switch off WiFi while the box is booted ? I can't believe WiFi will be active when the box is in sby. 0.5W isn't enough power to run either the WiFi adaptor or the wired network access.

Currently working on my network so whilst in process checked wifi connection.
If all network services are turned off on unit - then in full standby wifi is not active.
