I have been using file copy (from windows 10, windows exploring using "Access Media"->"Connect to Media Server") for some time without issue but now the "FVP-5000T DMS ..." shortcut keeps appearing and disappearing and I can only copy a file for about 20 seconds without getting an error. (if I look at folder "This PC\FVP-5000T DMS [IP address]\My Contents\Recordings" in explorer it loads, waits about 20 seconds and then does a full refresh)

Anyone else seen anything like this and/or know if the problem might be with the humax, my network or something windows?

Hard to say but I would always start with the network; how is the Humax connected to the router?

Just for my information where do you find "Access Media" ?

Humax is wired ethernet to router.

Access media on the toolbar when focus is on "This PC"

OK; is it cable all the way or are there Powerline adapters involved?

Thanks didn't know that; sadly it doesn't work for me. What does work is with This PC highlighted, go down to Network and you should see the DMS server right click on it and select Open.

Wired all the way - but there may be a fault with the router, waiting for Virgin media to look at that.
