Oh, I take it back. It's almost as if the box can sense what I'm typing. After three days of no problems, we're back to the HD break-up issues we had before. And so I must carry on diagnosing...

Incidentally, this seems to accurately describe all the problems I've experienced with the box:

I'm wondering if I should just bite the bullet and ask Humax for a replacement?

Thank you all for help and attempts to diagnose. Having had another aerial engineer out to look over the alignment of our log periodic, multiple retunings and manual software updates, I finally gave up today and called Humax. They are sending me a new box to swap out. Fingers crossed.
Hi all
So the new Humax box arrived today. I swapped it out with the old one, switched on and auto-tuned the channels, including the HD mux.
Perfect. All working fine. No break up or noise at all.
I think that's what they call an open and shut case, eh?
Thank you once again to everyone for their help and advice. Now I am going to happily sit and set a bunch of recordings for the next few weeks. In HD!
Oh, one more thing... about connecting it to the Internet...

Glad that fixed it!
What about connecting it to the internet?
