    Hi

I regularly transfer SD recording to my lap top and play them with windows media player, but when I try to play HD files the media player stops responding and will not play them.

I have also tried splash lite player and have the same problem.

    Any ideas why this is?

    Because they are encrypted.

Both SD and Hi-def files are encrypted on the internal Hard disk drive, So I presume you copied the SD files to an external Hard disk before transferring them to your Laptop, Transferring to a USB drive de-crypts SD files but not Hi-Def Files. It is possible to have Hi-Def files treated in the same way as SD files, but you need to 'Foxy' them first.

    Welcome to the Forum

I'm afraid you will not find much info on that see:

I found it, but, it is no use anyway as I was trying to use it on Foxsat HDR and I did not realise it only supports the T2.
It is very frustrating as my Foxsat hard drive is nearly full and I have some films in HD that I want to tranfer to my pc to watch using Mezzmo media server.
I guess I'll just have to upgrade the hard drive
