HDD kaput?

Morning all.
Have been experiencing permanent deleting on our 1TB box, so after following the well documented process I have reached the point where the CF Maintenance mode fix-disk command returns, 'Unable to find a disk'.

Is this the end of the road for this particular HDD, or is there some hope of repairing it?

Post the question on hummy.tv where the custom firmware experts are to be found.

Good point Martin... I had forgotten about hummy.tv

Meanwhile, I may be getting somewhere having rebooted it in safe mode.
