Hi all! So I took the plunge and purchased the HDR-1000S as an ex-sky customer yesterday - hooked everything up and within 10 minutes the system was fully working! Really impressed in general, seems great!

Only issue I'm having is 'turning off' my Samsung TV with the Humax remote? The TV/AV button does not seem to do a thing?

The Humax system seems better than Sky for functionality, expect for this action.

I've checked out as much detail on the topic as I can via google, and many people have said 'hold TV/AV button for 3 seconds' and the red light will turn on....there is no red light! And no matter how long I hold the button, when I try to enter the RCU code it just changes the channel, so if obviously not recognising the correct mode!

    Any help available?!

No idea what it is for on the HDR 1000S.

The Youview remote is multifunctional in that you can set it up to control TV.

I presume it will work, but with the odd layout - no dedicated menu or recordings buttons for instance, not sure what the YV button will access.

Will have a go later, cannot do it now as in the middle of testing something on G2.

As suspected the YV remote will work.

Youview button brings up the Home menu.

Hi - thanks for the replies! I'm seriously confused as to why it's on the freesat remote at all? Unless they've put it on for future software upgrades? (I'm not technical so that's a complete guess!)

The TV/AV buttons purpose is to bring balance and harmony to the remote. Pleasing spatial arrangement is important to promote a flow of positive energy.
