I have recently bought a hdr-1100s and I wish to transfer programmes onto an external hard drive. I have done this on my previous model of Humax, it makes it easy once the hard drive has been formatted. But I cannot see a way of doing this on the new model. Does anyone have any suggestions on this?

The only content you can copy to usb is content you uploaded yourself. There is no way to export the boxes own recordings.

Unfortunately you cannot transfer programmes with this unit.

I wonder whether this might have something to do with forcing people to buy a new one once they run out of space?

I wonder whether this might have something to do with forcing people to buy a new one once they run out of space? You can fit a larger hard drive very easily. It's down to Freesat and DRM requirements. The design and user interface is down to Freesat, Humax really only make the boxes. The Freeview+ boxes are a lot less locked down. If you really want to export content get a generic free to air satellite box, of course for most of these you won't have the convenenience of the Freesat epg.

Thanks for that Graham. Our box is 2TB so it isn't an immediate problem. I just wondered why Humax would drop such a useful feature from their latest model.
