Just installed new LG OLED with OLED soundbar and connected old HUMAX 2000T. Picture perfect but no sound. Any ideas? Thanks

How is the Humax connected to the soundbar?

    Through the TV connection

Not all TV's will output audio to a soundbar when it's input to a HDMI socket. Does the sound bar have a digital audio input (S/Pdif) optical and/or coaxial ?

    CORRECTION!

The installers plugged the sound bar into the mains, but didn't bother to connect it to the TV!
So the situation is that the Humax is connected to the TV and supplying picture but no sound emerging from the TV. (Sound is fine on other inputs)

Which presumably means the soundbar is either WiFi or Bluetooth connected to the TV. Do you have other kit connected to the TV using HDMI and get audio ? If so if what are they. Do you get sound on a SD channel with the box volume turned up to max with it's own remote control ?

Yes, it has both wired and Bluetooth connection and they hadn't set up the Bluetooth. Now I've set up the Bluetooth and I can get the Humax to play through the soundbar. The only problem now is to get the volume control working through the TV remote rather than the soundbar remote - but that's a problem for a different forum. Thanks for the help.

One of the Logitech Harmony remotes will solve the volume control issue.
