Please help! Having had aerial checked and filter fitted by an engineer and trying manual and automatic tuning on my HDR t2 all channels are fine apart from those hd channels on ch22 ( BBC1,2,4 ITV HD, Channel 4 HD etc). I experience loss of signal and break up on these channels. The engineer aligned aerial to Caradon transmitter. Signal strength on ch22 is, on average, 60% with 100% quality. Would an attenuator help?

    Welcome to our Forum

60/100 should be fine, I very much doubt an attenuator will be of any use. My HDR T2 same transmitter reports 88/100 for the same mux with no issues.

You mentioned a filter, for what? - have you tried removing it?

Without a spectrum analyser (and the skill to use it) impossible to say. It's possible that the gain curve of your aerial peaks at or around channel 22. As variable attenuators are so cheap why not just try one ? Is there any amplifiers in the system ? If so try removing it/them.

As Barry says on the face of the figures it looks unlikely, but worth a try.

At a guess the filter is for 4G which would have no effect on channel 22.

Thanks for your suggestions. The filter was installed to avoid interference from 4G mobile signal. I'll check to see if an amplifier is installed.
