I bought the Humax 1000s last week and so far found this site a great help to understand the products capability, current issues and help me correct my own miss understanding of how it should operate. Vital with such a poor manual!
Not sure yet if it will turn out to be good choice as i still haven't got much confidence in the firmware. This really surprised me as I thought that this was a mass market product from a brand leader and the usual bugs would have been thrashed out before release. I was warned though, and am willing to take a chance.
I also have a VU Duo Plus but it is quite complicated for general users
It is a real geeky sat box with a lot more capability but can be a little tricky as the EPG is autoloaded via the internet. It is so fast it makes the Humax 1000s feel like a 10 year old computer. Hopefully firmware updates will make the Humax operate quicker.
