I have 2 Humax HDR-Fox-T2 boxes, both bought new about 12 months ago,
The OK button on one remote control only works reliably if you press it really hard, I am assuming there are dirty contacts inside,
How do I get the remote apart please?
There doesn't seem to be any obvious screws visible.
    Regards,
    Jon.

    Welcome to our Forum

Remotes are not really designed to be opened up once 'snapped' together, however a user managed it and posted this on DS:

at 40 quid per replacement I'd also be tempted to open it up and fix before paying for a new one.

That's 1/5 of the price i paid for the box a whole.

Good to know there is a link to how to do it.

You aren't looking in the right places

That sort of price puts some of the Logitech universal remote range within budget.

However the OP presumably has around 12 months of the normal 2yr warrant left.

Thanks guys, I have a 5 year warranty on both boxes but would rather have a go at cleaning the contacts than posting it off for repair.

Try ringing Humax ( not email); in the past they have been known to send out a new remote free of charge in these circumstances.

I wouldn't pay 40 Quid for a Humax remote, you can get the Logitech Harmony 200 for 20 Quid, It controls 3 devices, has a single Macro and can download via USB codes for 15000 devices

Or the newer One for All X-sight lite can be had for a similar price, but controls 6 devices/activities and similar USB setup.
