    Please help. I have started recording a programme in error. How do I stop the recording before it reaches the end of its 2 hour schedule?

    Welcome to the Forum

    Press the stop button (to the right of the pause one)

    Should do, if we are talking 9150/9200/9300 pressing stop should display a pop up box with

    'Do you want to stop recording'

    With channel and programme details.

    No is the default action so you have to change this to yes and press OK

    The 2 hour recording is now finished so I have been able to delete it. If I make the same mistake again I'll try the stop button as you suggest and we'll see what happens then.

    Thanks for your help anyway.

    Don't wait until you accidentally do it again, do it deliberately as a test, that way you'll learn how to use the machine.

    The stop button will only stop a recording if you are watching live tv (or listening to live radio).

    The stop button will not stop a recording if:
    * viewing one of the menus, including the epg;
    * playing back a recording;
    * watching a TV programme in time slip mode.

    It seems to work better if you press PLAY first, then STOP (to stop the recording); finally, press STOP again: this seems to bring up the "Do you want to stop recording?" option.
