My Humax FVP-4000T which is connected to my old Phips TV via 3-pin RCA cable, switches off (stand-by red light extinguishes) every night at 20.41 for a few seconds and the tv looses the picture ("no signal")before everything reverts to normal! Any ideas how to determine what is happening and how to correct it please?

No idea but the box switches of the SD output if it detects a HDMI connection with the default settings. Guessing it might be a obscure software bug (Phantom HDMI cable

I have only played with the analogue outputs once and of course came across this setting. Basically experimenting with a PAL-RF modulator to see if it would work with a Sky Type magic eye system.

Changing it always on maintained the CVBS video and analogue audio out whenever the box is booted.

It clearly isn't down to the auto power off settings.

This is the first box I ever had that has seperate audio settings for S/PDif and HDMI out.

Got to be worth a punt

Need the OP to actually try it.

Yep. 20:42 would make sense but not 20:41.

Thank you all. General Settings - Video SD output is already at always on. Why does "20:42 would make sense but not 20:41."?
I even tried connecting recorder's HDMI to the TV with a HDMI Male to 3 RCA Video Audio Converter Component AV Adapter Cable HDTV but with no success.

21:00 is a common time for a recording to start. Eighteen minutes before the scheduled time for a recording the FVP-4000T starts to look out for the start of the programme. If it is in standby it starts up some more of its components when it does this. With the previous freeview HD and youview models this could interrupt the rf pass through signal to the TV for a few seconds. The FVP-4000T could be similar.

Do you have any events in your schedule for 21:00?

Has I have! I will try it without any scheduled recording and see what happens. Very irritating.

Thank you for the advice. I will let you know if I may.
