    Seasons Greetings friends.
I hope you guys can help me and save Christmas.
New to Humax but fairly proficient with electronic repairs.
I purchased a DTR T1010 off eBay and set up ok with loft aerial and signal of around 48%
I don’t know if it’s me now or sheet bad luck but I thought it would be good to amp the signal.

I sourced a televes broad band amp and got a signal strength of around 89%
Yay I thought king of the world. All channels worked crystal

I’ve gone to turn on the box this morning and it’s DEAD. No lights , no smoke , nothing at all.
Being used to electronic repairs I’ve already done the tear down. No obvious component damage, psu working but research has lead me to find these boxes are fairly faulty. Do I change capacitors? Could the amp damaged something else. Is there any circuit mounted fuses etc.

I’ve got a bee in my bonnet to bring this back to life.

    Best regards

That's a pretty old model now and given you got it off eBay you've no idea of how much work it's done over time.

What made you buy this antique in the first place? Hopefully you didn't pay much/anything for it?

    Thanks for the reply.
Too be honest I’ve been on cable before this so didn’t need Freeview.
If it’s out of the ark would it not be worth trying to save

Really need to consider if the time to fix is worth it?
Any advise on what’s a good alternative also.

Find a good used HDR-FOX-T2 and add the custom firmware.

Hummy.tv is the definitive place to go for info on custom software for the T2.
