we have had a the above recorder since 26 august 2010 and love it never had any issues untill 2 weeks ago! since then we have had nothing but problems.
    1) programs scedualled to record wont record unless the tv is on and the recorded channel is playing
    2) channels disappear once ONE channel is recording.
    3) when changing channels we get "bad or no signal" showing up on all channels

we have done everything recomended, took leads out , made sure they are in the right place. turned it of at wall, done factory reset, new leads and nothing seams to be working

oddly the other box we have (a basic freesat box) is working fine and no issues there

we have 2 leads going into the lnd sockets.

When you say it will not record with the tv on and watching a programe, do you mean a that you foxsat recorder is out of standby.
Have you tried puting your basic Freesat box in place of your recorder and see if works without prolems there. As you basic box only has one connection to the dish, connect each lead in turn that come from the dish and check that the basic freesat box functions o.k with both the leads. If it only works with one of the leads, make a note of which lead it dose not work with it. If this is case either that lead is faulty or there is a fault with the lnb on the dish.
When disconecting the lead from the back of your set top box, remove the mains supply first other wise you could damage the set box
