    Good Evening
So i bought a Humax Foxsat-HDR as my Humax 1100s kept restarting itself. Does the Foxsat model adds & deletes channels itself? I did a Freesat Tune as it hadn't updated the new channel numbers for Really on 145 & so on. The Freesat Recorders now are about £300 & I've heard their HDDs fail.

If the unit is in standby overnight, it will boot up and run housekeeping tasks at 03:00. Amongst other things, the housekeeping boot should handle any channel changes. My foxsat HDR dealt with the changes at the start of the month without a problem.

Perhaps your unit didn't get chance to run a housekeeping boot.

All hard disks will fail if used enough - the motors and other mechanical parts will just wear out. It is likely that disks in Foxsat have the same failure rate as any disk with similar usage.
