First off - excellent news and thanks for the early visibility.

Can someone at Humax tell us why its important for the unit to try to update the EPG (and in the process cut audio/video) when the guide button is pressed rather than displaying a cached copy ? I note that with the new firmware the second I press OK on the EPG the AV is restored and if you press exit to go back to the EPG the AV cuts out once more.

Is there a good reason ? Does the unit update the cached EPG in the background when we are watching TV ?

Yes, it does. (I'm talking about 1.00.15. I haven't tried the new firmware yet.) I always press Schedule and Red to display the EPG, never Guide. But the EPG still gets updated in the background. However, it takes longer to update this way, so you might not be seeing the very latest version. And you won't be able to see the EPG for seven day's time if you've only just switched on for the first time today. I suppose the Humax designers wanted to make sure you would always see a fully up-to-date EPG.

Barry, can you confirm a OTA start date? The 14th perhaps?
