    Hi,
My first ever post on a forum, so hopefully it's successful.
The 4000T Media Center won't display files. I can see folders on the DLNA server (Synology 214play) and I can drill down through subfolders however it won't display any filesnames either photos or music mp3. It will show the videos in the video folder though and I can play them.

Any ideas on how to show or play the files would be welcome. Has anybody succesfully played music on their 4000T from a Synology server?

I have tried altering settings on the Synology including indexing the files, but nothing seems to Work.

    Thanks
    Mark

To see and play music and image file, you need to move across the menu within Media centre. You will see "PHOTO" and "MUSIC" indication on left and right side of screen.

Yes, @guitee84 is right. It took me a few days to realise this, having tried lots of more complicated routes!

Thanks @guitee84, this works for photos. The slide show is quite fast and I dont get long enough to see the photos. Anyway of slowing the slide show down?
Also the MUSIC option will show folders and allow me to select the folder contating the Album. However when I get into the album folder no tracks are displayed. Any Ideas how to play the music??
    Thanks

Photos - When photo displayed press the + key, slideshow speed, options are 3, 5, 10 secs.

Music - When accessing Media Centre is Music displayed I top left corner of screen? If not then use left arrow to change.

@Barry, How do you set up the music files on the folder so that the ALbum covers are displayed on the Humax Media Player

Not sure that actually works, I have 2 x NAS and using either for streaming, no covers are displayed even tough they are included in the relevant album folder.

You are lucky you don't have the 2000T which is allegedly a DLNA server and client. That device can't even see my Synology NAS - just about every other device I own can. What the 2000T can see doesn't help as when it can access another device it still can't play any files - file format not supported, no matter what it is. It can see a USB thumb drive on our TV, it lists all the video files - MP4 but again file format not supported.

I have an old banjo that could play MP4 files but not the Humax 2000T. It works as a PVR but that is all it really does.
