I'm living in the Netherlands and am looking to get a setup with both Freesat and Dutch Cable with the option to record from both. For this reason I am looking at getting a TV from the UK with a built in Freesat tuner and the Humax iHDR 5200c (with twin cable tuners). http://www.humaxdigital.com/global/products/product_stb_cable_ihdr5200c.asp

So my question is simple. Will the Humax iHDR 5200c when hooked up to my TV be able to record off the in built Freesat tuner too?

Welcome to the Forum

Having had a quick look at the manual, I suspect the HDR 5200c will only record from inbuilt tuners, but stand to be corrected if anyone has definite info.

Do you know of a Humax recorder that doesn't just record from in-built tuners?

The other option of course would be to buy a Dutch TV (with inbuilt cable tuner) and a UK Humax recorder with twin Freesat tuners. But I am guessing that setup wouldn't record from the TV either...
