I think my HDR 1800T is dying.

This morning I was watching a rerecorded program and for a second or so but very intermittently I was getting a black screen and no sound.
I am currently watching my LG B7 55" via the inbuilt tuner to see if the issue is box related or TV.

Anyone had a similar issue or is it a sign that the box is probably on it's way out. I was considering replacing the 1800T with the FVP-5000T but have read mixed reviews.

    All thoughts welcome.

Edit: So far the TV tuner has not shown the issue so it does look like the box.

    Hi MrFraggle

It sounds like a HDMI handshake problem.
First reboot your box this sometimes may help.
If that don't work try the following.
Next check your HDMI cable to make sure it is in tight,
Next try changing the HDMI cable as it may have a small break in it.

You could also try other devices in the same HDMI input to see if they work OK on your TV.

A factory reset seems to have sorted it which is good given the 5000t has issues which would annoy me.
    Thank.
