Includes a few fixes and updates.

    Search now includes EPG.
    Resolution change now an option
Surround over HDMI (and they appear to have fixed the glitches as well)

Believe the 'long boot' issue may have been fixed as well.

If you had kept your eye on my saliant points post in FAQ you might have noticed the emoticon against a few entries many days ago

Edit - 'long boot' ie taking longer then usual or double boot as some refer to.

fluffed or just not what users want ie confirmation of delete...

I just lock everything I might want to keep, although other PVR's are used in preference to this one anyway.

Exactly what I do (lock wanted recordings) and is the simplest way around the delete issue...

Yes. I know about locking recordings. Incidentally while that brings back the confirmation it breaks the golden rule by allowing the same (Delete) key to be pressed to confirm the delete. Ideally a different key (eg OK) should be used to guard against key bounce or twitchy finger.

What is the new update software version?

My box is refusing to find any new software... (4th Dec last updated, 8.7.0)

Have they pulled the update again?

    Manufacturer Software - 9.5.0
    Component Software - 1.2.6
    Platform Configuration - 312
    ISP Configuration - 1

Tis a phased roll out to retail boxes intially, over a couple of weeks apparently.

    Thanks Barry for the info.

Have any other YouView Trialists been able to update? (So I did all this work for them and they don't even allow me to update?)

I think Youview have repeated what they did last time.

Allow 2000 odd to download, then remove the update from the server whilst they gauge feedback/reaction.
