Hi, i have just got this unit and seems very nice, i was wondering and probably sounds stupid but i cannot find the answer in the manual..

if i set a recording to come on and then power off the unit, so it's in standby, will it record the program still?

will it just turn it's self on, or will it record but not look like it's obviously recording and just do it in the background, or does the unit have to be left on?

    thanks

    james

Hi welcome to the forum. You can put the unit in sby, apart from a tiny recording icon on the display you won't know the unit has woken to make the recording.

All recent pvrs have to be able to wake from low power standby to make recordings thanks to EU power saving legislation. Humax pvrs are fully compliant

    No.

If you have used the aerial loop through to feed other downstream kit (typically your TV) then you will need to turn off power saving in sby so you can use your TV to watch TV while the box in sby. Either way it will not affect recording from sby (low power on or off)
