    Hi,

Just joined the forum and thought I would post my thoughts on my new Humax.

I've had a 9200t for many years. I was happy with this apart from a lengthy period when it would hang for the first few minutes when switched on, which was a known issue at the time and frustrating as you could not change channel. An eventual firmware update fixed this and it is still beavering away nicely today.

Decided to buy a Fox T2 for improved picture quality, series record and the greatly increased capacity.

Very happy so far. Multi-device remote is a benefit, picture quality is great, especially the EPG, over HDMI and HD is very welcome.

I've had some niggling issues where a couple of times there was no sound when I switched it on and I once had a green screen but all was resolved following a 'reboot' of my Humax and TV. Also had some recordings which report that they were unsuccessful due to loss of signal but when I've viewed these they seem just fine.

As long as Humax support the firmware updates on this I am looking forward to many years of use.

    Welcome to the forum.

I suspect the 'no sound issue' will be related to the HDMI handshake between your TV and HDR. This still seems to be an ongoing issue for some, although Humax did 'do something' in the current firmware release that was supposed to improve it. It does, however, still manifest itself now and again. Quite a few people with Sony televisions complain.

I don't know if you have heard about the custom firmware that is available for the HDR. It really adds some great functionality to the box.

I must warn you though. There is currently an unresolved issue with the custom firmware when used on newer HDR's that have been loaded with firmware v1.03.06.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE THE CUSTOM FIRMWARE IF YOU NEW HDR HAS THIS VERSION!!! At least until the issue has been resolve.

    Thanks Wallace,

Yes, HDMI looks like the issue. All was fine with a Scart lead except the expected degraded picture quality.
