    Oh, thank you! I was looking for a refurbished one anyway. It appears from the specs that the only difference between the two is the length of recording time?
    I'm sure the 1800 will be more than adequate in terms of recording time so thank you for the heads up.
    I'm sure I'll be back with lots of questions as I muddle my way through:-)

    Yep different HDD sizes, and colour of course.

    HDR 1800T - 320GB HDD
    HDR 2000T - 500GB and 1TB HDD

    and with the HDR-2000T there is slightly more flexibilty as the HDR-2000T has 2 UB ports and the HDR-1800T has just the one.

    Yep, was not going to list all differences, but as you mention that one, another is the remotes, piano black for 2000, and matt black for 1800, the layout is different as well...note the manual images for the 1800T remote are wrong.
