According to the manual for the 2000T, I can press the / button to move forward or back one day. The only button I can find with this symbol is the pause button. Pressing it doesn't have this effect. Any advice please?

It's the double arrow keys above the coloured function buttons. One pair moves a full screen, the other 24 hrs.

Entering a channel number jumps to the epg line for that channel at the currently displayed time slot.

The icons are missing from the guide unfortunately, tis the skip forward (above guide button) and skip back (above the media button) for 24 hour skips.

Methinks Graham is in HDR T2 mode

The same buttons are used for skipping forward & back in recordings or whilst you're watching.

The left-hand (curly arrow) is the instant replay
    Recording > Instant Replay

The right hand (arrow with vertical bar) is the skip forward
    Recording > Skip Forward

So with skip forward set to 1 minute, 4 presses jumps you quickly through a 4 minute advert break

If you've skipped too far, Instant replay (set to 15 secs) will jump you back a bit,

So if the ad-break was actually 3 1/2 minutes 4 presses forward & 2 presses back take you to the next section of the program.

But the OP's question is about navigating in the Guide.
