Has anyone dumped their Humax Freesat box in favour of the new Arris 4k box, If so are you pleased you have?

No, I am happy with my Humax 1100s + older Humax Foxsat pvrs. From what I have heard the new Arris is very unreliable. It keeps overheating & cutting out/rebooting. Certainly gives you a lot of confidence in the product! The only advance in the design is the menu layout & not much else. Have you downloaded the instruction manual & compared it to the older models? John L

I have and I'm pleased with it.
Its been fine since the last firmware update (9.21) and has never overheated or reset.
My wife also likes the Aura, she finds it much easier to use than the Humax Youview STB.

No, haven't read the Arris manual.
    it obviously doesn't inspire you.
What exactly is it you don't like from the manual?

Does it load up from start quicker than the Humax?
My 1100s takes quite a while.

I've not used an 1100s Humax STB, so cant compare.
Its about the same or quicker to start from normal standby as our old DTR2XXX youview box. Takes longer from deep standby but we dont use that.
Overall very pleased with the Aura.

    Thank you.
As an aside...Why doesn't this forum have a thanks icon (mods)?
