Good evening everyone. Sorry but my problem is probably very basic. Bought my HDR 1800T last week. Took me days to realise the aerial needed moving from the tv to the Humax box, but relieved that the channels then loaded. Thought I was ready to go, but my recordings have vanished, now when I try and record I get a blue circle with line through it on the top right of tv screen. Do I need to connect to my internet or use a dongle? Do I need to use a scart lead between tv and Humax box? Any help would be greatly appreciated before box lands in the field behind me house

Hi welcome to our forum. At the very basic level you just need to connect a aerial to the box and a hdmi cable to the TV. Adding an aerial connection from the box RF out to the TV requires you to turn off power saving in sby if you want to use the TV's own tuners while the box is in sby.
First thing to try is disconnect the power from the box and leave it for say 5 mins. Hopefully your recordings will appear again. Let us know how you get on.
Internet connection is only required for catch up services.

Hi Elsa
Rebooting the machine by powering off and on sorts it out. Its a known issue with the 1800 and 2000. Sometimes they fail to recognise sound or the hard drive functions
Whether you can live with it is another matter. It doesnt happen all the time. When the boxes work they have a good picture and recordings
