Hi all, an ex beyonwiz user whose Beyonwiz died. So i bought a Humax HDR-3000T. setup was very easy and i'm quite impressed with it so far. Only problem i have is the time it takes for it to boot. In the manual it says there is an option for quick boot but i cannot see a way to do it without doing a factory reset.

Welcome to our Forum
We don't have this model in the UK...
Try looking in Home, Settings, System Settings, Power Management for Power Saving Mode.

A cold boot of 30 seconds is about normal for a Linux box about 0.5w in standby. An apparent faster boot is only possible from warm, at the expense of extra power consumption in standby. There other ways of achieving faster boots that are possible but there are drawbacks to these.

Check the menus for a power on timer option. You could use this to boot the box say 30 minutes every day before you normally use the box.
Also a reminder/watch reservation set from the epg will boot the box for you.

Oh you had my hopes up there that they might have an interim model which irons out the problems of the 2000T but in a similar standard looking box
I see its an Australia or overseas model in that chocca mocca, top controls casing which I dont like
Yes Humax are not known for fast booting these days. I dont like the styling of the 3000/ 4000/ and 5000 so its not really what Im looking for from Humax in future
