I have a Humax T1000 Youview Recorder. It keeps losing power and it just wont come on. Then when it does eventually come on it says 'nearly ready' but wont move on from that.

Unfortunately this happens with a lot of these DTR-T1000 boxes. Sometimes, if you can reset the box, it may go on to function satisfactorily for some time.

Try the 8-second reset: touch the big central button on the box for 8 seconds and then let go. The box should restart. Sometimes this solves the problem.

If that doesn't work, you could try a Maintenance Mode reset. See http://videos.youview.com/support/maintenance_mode.pdf

Thanks for your reply, but the orange or blue light at the front isnt even coming on. The light at the back for the ethernet lead in lit but no lights at the front.

Do you mean that's what happened following the 8-second reset?

Try turning it off, using the switch on the back of the box. Unplug it at the wall, and remove the ethernet connection. Leave it for ten minutes or so. Plug in at the wall and switch on at the back. (Leave the ethernet unplugged.)

If no resurrection, then if it's still under warranty you could ring Humax, who may offer a replacement, which will probably be a refurbished T1000.

If it's out of warranty, contact the retailer.

Have tried all now. Unplugging all, on again, still no joy, this thing is a flipping disaster....never again.

The DTR-T1000 was the first YouView box to go on sale. Some would say it was far from ready.

The current model (DTR-T2000) is said to be more reliable.
