When I record an HD channel there's no sound on playback, in the info pane there's "Enc" that doesn't show on normal channels, does anyone have any idea what it means, and why I have no sound ?.

Hi welcome to the forum. Which box, how is it connected to your TV and which TV. ENC means the recording is encrypted (all HD channels are).

I have an HDR-FoxT2 that has been recording SD reliably on freeview for the past year. Now that we have HD turned on in Northern Ireland I too can only get picture but no sound. I am still on freeview - any suggestions?

I am still on freeview - any suggestions? What software version is the box using? Anything prior to 1.02.20 will demonstrate exactly this problem.

Also remember that the updates are broadcast on the HD mux so if you have previously not been able to receive it you would have had to update using a USB stick.
The update is not scheduled this week or next (see http://www.dtg.org.uk/industry/download_schedule.php) so you may wish to follow the USB route anyway.| Wed 31 Oct 2012 19:08:43 #7 | -
Did a software update via USB - worked a treat. Many thanks.
