I have a new problem which is that if I have set the PVR to record whilst the TV is turned off and then turn on the TV we are unable to watch any channel.

The TV - a Panasonic TX-32LXD60 connected via HDMI cable - just shows a snowy screen.

Trying any combination of channels and buttons on the TV remote have no effect. Same with the Foxsat remote too.

We have to wait until recording is finished before we are able to see any picture on the TV.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks.

If you have the HDR on hdmi1 try a different socket. I assume you have tried selecting a different input on the TV.

Do you mean using the TV's own internal tuner? You do not mention an aerial feed to the TV. Is there one?

I experiance the same problem with my Humax HDR 320 and a Panasonic TX-P46GT30B no amount of cross switching will bring up the picture from the Humax whilst it is in a timer set recording mode. As soon as the timer set recording is finished then all returns to normal on HDMI-1 from the Humax.

I think you will find it's the TV source and resolution - I would suggest a couple of presses of the Foxsat V-FORMAT button or changing the imput source and back again on the TV remote.

    Hi All,

    Thanks for your responses.

The TV is connected to the PVR via HDMI1 and TV is tuned to channel 95HDMI which we find the easiest. Have also tried selecting other TV channels but all decline to show any picture other than "snow"

No connections are made like TV aerial etc.

Have tried your suggestions on switching HDMI ports and many other variations using both PVR and TV remotes.

Nothing shifts the lockout from viewing a TV channel if the TV is switched on during a recording session.

    Dear John,

I found a similar problem with my PVR9150T and a Panasonic TV.

When the 'Power saving on standby' was ON, I got no signal on the TV. With 'Power setting on standby' as OFF, everything on the TV is fine.

This setting is made via the Menu>Preferences>Miscellaneous settings route

    Hope this works Paul

    Hi,

I have now tried many variables of my TV and the PVR and nothing will enable me to watch the TV if it is switched on whilst a record session is running.

The TV is totally locked out from receiving any signal from the PVR.

Will nobody save me from this irksome beast?

    Thanks.

    John

What happens if you are watching TV and a recording starts?
Also if you then place it in standby? and then restart it.

I don't understand your "channel95 HDMI" - most TV's just name this HDMI1 HDMI2 etc (selectable via source on the semote). Some let you change the name but then I would have gone for something like Foxsat.

Have you got an aerial connected to the TV ?
Have you tuned in your local Freeview channels on the TV using the aerial connection ?

While watching the Foxsat, what happens if you press the record button to record the channel you are watching ?

How many cables have you connected to your Foxsat (1 or 2).
If 2 are the cables on the outer sockets with nothing on the middle one ?
If 1 do you have a short cable linking the centre socket to tuner 2 in ?
