Thats a pretty unusual set of Windows settings - how come you are showing two IP4 addresses for the same adaptor. The 192.0.2 subnet is routable which is unusual amd no default gateway or DNS is shown. Is the Windows machine part of a corperate network?

Hi!
I have no idea why the settings ar ethe way they are. It is a laptop connected over a wireless network.Telnet simply gave the prompt back with a blank line response and then the prompt again:
humax# rm -f filebglastop.dat
humax#
humax#
humax# ls
dvbepg filebglastop.dat
humax#Is there a searate setting on the humax box to allow remote deletion that has been missed?

-rw-rr--r-- 1 root root 1036 Aug 14 10.33 filebglastop.dat

slight typo:
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1036 Aug 14 10.33 filebglastop.dat| Tue 14 Aug 2012 10:36:15 #36 | -
Have you tried to see if the permanent deleting problem has gone?

You need to stop the Humax software first, so:
/etc/init.d/S90settop shut
rm /mnt/hd1/filebglastop.dat
rm /tmp/.humaxtv.holddown
pkill sleep
(check it isn't recording or about to record first)

What status should the box be in? ON or Standby?
The filebglastop.dat file is being constantly re-written
