I have very poor signal strength on BBC1 & 2 HD on my Humax HDR 1800T such that the picture breaks up or I get a blank screen with error message. The signal strength is fine on all other channels and also fine on BBC1 & 2 on the JVC TV used for viewing. Signal is fed to both TV & HDR1800T via a 2way signal splitter / amplifier. have tried swaping the cables over and also feeding the HDR straight from the aerial this make no difference. We receive signals from the Tacolestone transmitter. Any ideas?

Is this a new problem or has the 1800T worked before on BBC1HD?
Are you sure that ALL your signals are from Tacolneston?
Tune into BBC1HD. Press "OK" and then "i" on your remote and check the pop-up message. Does it say Ch50 on the line above the blue OK button on-screen? If it does you are tuned into Tacolneston. If it says something else you are tuned into the wrong transmitter.
If you are tuned into the wrong transmitter you will probably need to do a manual retune to get BBC1HD.| Tue 31 Jan 2017 10:45:34 #2 | -
Hi,
Thanks very much for your reply. It is a new problem as I have only just installed the HDR1800T and it did an auto channel search. Yes I am tuned to Ch29 for BBC1 & 2 HD also ITV HD and to Ch 31 for the other HD Channels. Just have to work out how to do a manual retune to CH 50 now ?....will report back later on if I succeeded!
Thanks again

Just have to work out how to do a manual retune to CH 50 now ?It is exactly the same as an HDR-FOX T2, which is described at

Hi again,
Just did a Manual retune to CH50 & saved it This did not seem to change anything, so I did a full auto retune and now all is OK BBC1 & 2 HD ITV HD etc. now all on CH50 and signal strength is good. Thanks very much for your help.
I wonder how many other people have had this problem and thought it was the box at fault. Strange though because on my original installation auto tune I remember selecting 'Anglia' region (which I did again this time) but it left me tuned to Ch29, which I assume is the Belmont TX for Yorkshire TV?
Thanks again

Just discovered I was originally tuned to the West Runton repeater Transmitter which has the BBC HD channels on Ch 29 I guess the signal from this TX may have been marginally better than the Tacolneston TX at that particular time?...Ah well all sorted now
Thanks again
