    Hi,

    I have bought a 43” Crystal UHD DU7100 4K Smart TV (2024)
    UE43DU7100KXXU .

I am connecting it to a Humax recorder using HDMI cable. I can access my recordings from the Humax, but just cannot get the TV to play live TV.

New HDMI 2.1 cable and Humax connected to my old TV works OK.

When I try to play live TV on the new TV all I get is poor quality sound and a black screen. It is like that on all channels.

I am connected to the internet

I have reset everything I can think of or find.

    Can you help please?

    Chris

Are you tying to watch the TV's live TV channels, or are you trying to watch the Humax's live channels?

If its the TV's live channels you are attempting to watch, have you checked the aerial cable for the TV is connected to the TV's aerial port? The TVs aerial port is located just below its HDMI ports?

    Hi Luke,

    Many thanks for your reply.

Everything is coming through the the Humax on our old set up.

If the aerial is connected to the Humax and the HDMI to the TV then we can view and watch recorded TV on the new TV, but no new recordings are possible and TV signals are scrambled or not available.

Typically we normally record programs during the day and into the evening, and watch recordings during the later evening.

Samsung tell me that I must connect both HDMI and Aerial to the Samsung TV, but if I do that there is no contact with the Humax at all.

    Any suggestions?

Have emailed both Samsung and Humax for help - waiting for replies.

Are you using the input source button on the Samsung TV remote to select the Humax as an input?

Have you set it up with the aerial going to RF in on the Humax and also a RF lead going from the Humax RF out to Samsung RF in ?

    Hi Mars,

    Thanks for reply.

Yes I am using input source button to select HDMI3 - have also tried moving cable and trying other two HDMI - i.e. HDMI1 and HDMI2

To be honest I have been trying so many options that I'm getting really confused.

Hi Chris. As Trog mentioned you need an aerial cable going from your Humax to your TV. Then you will need to select 'TV' instead of an HDMI port on your TV.

Wondering the old TV was using CEC to automatically switch between the Humax box and the TV direct and the new TV has not had CEC activated?
