I just bought this for my mother(85)and we have noticed that when listening to the radio,a screen saver floats over the screen every 5 seconds showing the time. I tried to slow this down in Screen Display but it did not work.

Has anyone got any ideas how to slow the screen saver or turn it off?

BBC radio stations usually give you an option to turn the screen off altogether. I haven't tried it on the HDT-2000T and am not at home so can't check at the moment.

For other stations, I'm afraid I have no suggestions.

Back home now and just checking that it works on the HDR-2000T.

It does work, but, maddeningly, the wretched screensaver turns itself on regardless.

The HDR's screensaver cannot be turned off.

Apart from having a power save option the menus for the HDR-FOX T2 are identical to the HDR-2000T and no one has managed to permanently turn the HDR-FOX T2's screensaver off.

If you use the TV to give you the audio, really all you can do is turn down the tv brightness to hide the annoyance, the CF for the HDR FOX T2 offers different screensavers, Not sure if it includes a blank screen. I have all my boxes connected to a AV amp, all you have to do is turn off the TV for audio only content.

One of the options on a HDR-FOX T2 with the 3rd party additional software is to substitute the numbers and separators of the screen saver with blank black images. This is very much not ideal as you still lose the accompanying BBC radio text and need to press the remote whenever you want to view it, but at least its not as distracting as the jumping clock. They also have an alternative of just two red dots which is also a lot less distracting and helps to easily identify if the TV is still on or not.
