A big thanks to those that look after the CF, most of us here would be well and truly stuffed without it

I have done the HDD Reformat and re installed customised firmware etc.

Your choice to waste your time doing the format.

Hard Disk Diagnostics indicate a High Reallocated_Sector_Ct (619)

619 reallocated sectors isn't particularly high; some people are using boxes with several thousand reallocated sectors. It is a flag to keep an eye on the disk.

    and also Current_Pending_Sector
    & Offline_Uncorrectable =1.

That is likely to be the cause of your problems. Have you tried running the custom firmware fix-disk routine?

Any suggestions as to source of a good reliable HDD suitable for use in the Humax T2 Fox PVR ?

My experience is that the more recent Seagate AV drives are more reliable than the older ones. I would suggest 1 Tb drive or 2 TB drive

I have had the 2TB drive installed for over twelve months and no problems so far and in my view is worth a few pounds more.
