I can record a program on RTE when it comes on air with no problem but trying to record a later programme using the epg is hit and miss. Some prorammes record ok others fail with the message "unable to track the program". To record or not is pretty random and is the same for all Irish stations. Signal strength on all Irish stations is good 80% compared to 70% from BBC and ITV channels. My aerial installer is baffled and can see no reason why this should be.
Can you shed any light please

When using the HDR-FOX T2’s Accurate Recording feature the HDR-FOX looks out for the start of the programme to be recorded. It does this by looking at the epg which is being transmitted from the channel of the current/last programme recorded/watched.
If that was a non-Irish channel an Irish channel will not be able to be tracked as non-Irish channels do not transmit the Irish epg.

The simplest solution is not to turn off Accurate Recording by setting padding times. MENU >> Settings >> Preferences >> Recording

Thanks Luke. Padding has never been set on my Humax. I have confirmed that start and end padding times are off.

I think Luke got it the wrong way round. You need to turn off accurate recording i.e. enable padding if receiving from more than one transmitter,

Oops! Please accept my apologies for that very bad typo of mine.

    It should have read:
"The simplest solution is to turn off Accurate Recording by setting padding times. MENU >> Settings >> Preferences >> Recording"

Thanks Martin. If Luke was right I couldn't see pre-set recording being possible. I will set up a series of recordings overnight to check it.
There is another problem with RTE which I will submit later

Presumably leaving padding off and setting manual recordings (including a repeat pattern if needed) for RTE ought to work OK ?

Remember using autopadding you have to arrange for the box to wake up every day to refresh the epg. If you don't all recording ceases after 7 days (you run out of epg).
