Our local BBC does not broadcast in HD so we have to record in SD but if we record the news in HD then try to record local news in SD all we get is a broken up picture. Is there any solution to this one?

    Hi welcome to the forum.

Can you try this out and report what happens.

Tune to 1 and press record
Tune to 101 and press record

Leave both recording for about 1 minute. Stop both recordings (the square stop button).

Can you play back both recordings ?

Yes I did this and found that I had a good recording on both. Since i posted the query I have downloaded an update and then updated the machine so this is perhaps the reason for success!! But we did find that on the SD recording we lost sound but having turned everything off, and playing them again the sound miraculasly returned. Thank you for your reply.

I took the machine back as the tuner failed so it was replaced by a new one. This is working except it will not pick up BBC 1 or BBC2 but is fine on ITV when in SD mode. It may be the aerial but my LG VCR works superbly. Is it worth trying to use the TV purely as a monitor using only the HDMI cable and the 2000T?
