Is there a way to search the EPG? The search function only seems to include On Demand content.

Unfortunately not, whether this will change is anyones guess.
Just one of the many fundamental PVR functions missing from this unit, as highlighted in our FAQ's

They do this on purpose so that you'll miss the programmes you want to record so have to use the catch-up service
Unfortunately, not all programmes is available on iPlayer, itvPlayer, 4OD or Demand5.
Although, if you think about the YouView target market - they probably think their users are still using paper guides, so they might not make the EPG searchable anytime soon...

We are all on tenterhooks now the moratorium on updates for the duration of the Olympics has now presumably been lifted?
ps I still use a paper guide. The marker pen tends to make a mess on the TV screen.

Its SO obviously missing one wonders if the content providers objected to the EPG being searched.

In that case would they not have objected to that feature being present on all other boxes?

I was referring to VOD providers not the terrestrial broadcasters.
