Planet knowledge is a free service as far as I am aware. Certainly all the programmes I tested yesterday on a FVP 4000T were.
BT showcase is a promotional channel for BT sport. They do show free programmes now and again, Champions League and Europa League Football finals were shown free to air I believe. it is only available in HD on channel 115 carried on Com 8 mux so not available to all.

Planet knowledge is a free service as far as I am aware. Certainly all the programmes I tested yesterday on a FVP 4000T were. There are now some videos that do require a subscription. The intro voice states that it is £2.99 a month and depending on how you initiate the intro video there is accompanying text saying it is £1.99 a month.
To quote their web site:Just click on the ‘Account’ button on the top right hand side of the Planet Knowledge screen on your TV, tablet or Smartphone and enter your credit card details into our SMARTpay application.
The account features do not appear to be yet compatible with all devices where the free videos are available, but you should see some categories where some items are clearly marked as subscription only. Not all categories include any subscription videos and so I guess by chance you were looking at a purely subscription free category.
The image of a TV that is compatible looks like a Samsung and has 'My Account' in the top right hand corner and not 'Account' as described on their web site.| Mon 3 Jul 2017 7:56:26 #3 |
