Sorry do you mean Stop on the remote? Cant find a stop there
Where is the stop on the front of the Humax please
I can see on off and volume...
The LED - light on the front if that's what you mean - is showing red now.
Shall I switch everything off at the wall?

Sorry, I was away. I meant press whatever button stops the box recording. But I see you've tried switching off at the wall, which would certainly stop it recording, and that hasn't helped so you can forget about my suggestion.

Looking at the manual, there are channel up-down buttons on the front of the box. Do they work?

I have again unplugged it and will leave it for half an hour or so.
But I fear that won't help because I've found the Humax returns usually to whatever station it was on previously.
    And that's what I don't want.
If anybody has any bright ideas I'd be so grateful.
It isn't a problem with the remote because I had that the other day and replaced the batteries.
I've now replaced again with a new set.

Sorry James - our postings clashed.
You are right those buttons changed the channels so I now appear to be on another radio station.
Now I need to know how I can get back to TV
I won't touch the remote again until somebody can guide me thro it if poss
    Thanks again
    UPDATE
I have checked the remote and as before nothing works.
Surelythe P up anddown should change channels?
Menu button, numbers, OK buttons all don't work including power on and off button.
Is this some indication that the remote is faulty do you think?

Press the STB button on the remote, just to make sure.

Press the STB button on the remote, just to make sure.

    And then press 1.

Edit - PVR button I should have said.

I don't have an STB button James
No Graham my remote doesn't have a TV/radio button.
I seem to remember I followed some weird procedure to get into radio, something to do with the arrows either side of OK button.
I repeat I have change the radio channels with the up and down buttons on the unit but the remote won't actually change anything.
So either that means the remote is shot or the unit itself is faulty and not responding to the remote.

No you will have a PVR button, press this once it should light up.

You may see a icon of remote with PVR label displayed on TV.

I've an idea you have put your unit into radio mode via the list function, however pressing 1 should change it to BBC1 anyway.
