Aerial from wall socket goes into Humax 'RF in' socket. Cable from Humax 'RF Out' socket goes into TV aerial socket. So far nothing is switched on.

Please tell me the simplest sequence of switching the TV and the Humax on in order to activate the Humax 'home' button.

I apologise for the apparent silliness of the question but I can't discover an elegant way of doing this without doing the following (and that doesn't always work!):
    1. switch on Humax
    2. switch on TV
    3. at this point the Humax 'home' button doesn't always register
    4. switch off Humax
    5. switch on Humax again.

    Thank you

If I'm guessing correctly on how you hav it connected and wjat you mean by 'switch off Humeax'
    1. switch on TV
    2. switch on Humax
    3. use the TV source button on the TV's remote to switch to the Humax

Step 3 can sometimes be setup to do it automatically but will depend on which TV you have and what options it has for CEC and/or auto switching through an HDMI cable becoming active.

Which TV do you have? Make? Model?
How is the Humax connected to the TV in addition to the RF cable?
Do you have other HDMI devices connected to the TV?
Is the RF cable from the Humax to the TV what you want? I.e. Do you often want to watch using the TVs own tuners?

Luke, I've found a related thread that has solved my problem. Going to Humax settings> system settings> power management and changing the Power Saving option to 'off' does the trick.
Thank you again for your interest.
