T1010/Too bright centre display

Hi, Is there any way to dim/remove centre display circle, on T1010?

I'm afraid not, other then sticking some tape over it.

So why no update which allows turning off the display? With long station names the display will scroll making it even more distracting over and above its brightness. Come on Humax it's an easy fix to allow users to turn off the display if they choose.
