The Truth Table for the front panel lamp appears to be as follows:

    NOT Recording
STANDBY (no TV output) ........ lamp = RED (dim)
    ON ...................................... lamp = BLUE

    Recording
STANDBY (no TV output) ........ lamp = RED (bright)
ON ...................................... lamp = RED (bright)

While the box is Recording, I find it disconcerting to press the ON/STANDBY button of the Remote Control without seeing any change to the lamp.

Although the change from RED (dim) to RED (bright) and vice versa is easily discernible, without observing that change I am sometimes unsure which state the lamp is in.

So here follows what the Truth Table SHOULD have been:

    NOT Recording
STANDBY (no TV output) ........ lamp = RED
ON ...................................... lamp = BLUE (bright)

    Recording
STANDBY (no TV output) ........ lamp = BLUE (dim)
ON ...................................... lamp = BLUE (bright)

    (Humax nerds please note).

I don't think that would work because there is no visible differentiation between recording and not recording while on...

    I would prefer

    standby (no record) dim blue
    standby (record) dim red
    on (no record) blue
    on (record) red

since red=record is a very common association all the way back to tape recorders and possibly further!

But that said I hate the whole dim/bright thing because you can't glance at it and deduce the state. There should be a significant difference in brightness, or better still ditch the whole concept and have one for standby/on and one for record.
