Just discovered that I cannot view and edit etc HD TS files on a PC in the same way that I can with SD TS files. Amazed that not even trusty VLC player can cope with them!

Can anyone please recommend any free software to get round this problem please?

That's because they are encrypted. Copying a SD file to usb removes the encryption.

Sorry, but if copying to a USB removes the encryption, why can't one then view the files?

Or, if I've misunderstood you, are you saying there is no way to view these files once they've been taken off the Humax?

The point that Graham was making was that SD files can have the encryption removed by copying to a USB drive but as standard HD files cannot. There is a method but the discussion of such methods is not allowed on this Forum

OK, thanks for clarifying the situation. So basically, anything I want to record and transfer off the Humax needs to be in SD.
