After some advice here ... seems my way forward is to make my video files available on network.
I can easily put in an Ethernet connection from my router to HDR-FOX T2/1TB
Are there any specifics I need to set on router or PVR ?

I have a number of digital recordings of films / TV episodes on an networked 2TB NAS drive - welcome any tips or hints to get this set up.
Just to confirm NAS drive can be easily browsed by networked PC's as long as I run 'discover' software first and then map the drives. Not sure if that will be issue for PVR

The NAS will need DLNA server software of some description if you want to stream without using a PC as well. Whether they play or not may depend on the capabilities of the server software to transcode on the fly.

Note some versions of Twonky DLNA server will cause the HDR FOX T2 to crash.

I would copy a few to a usb drive (unless the NAS will connect by usb) and try and play some back using one of the HDR FOX T2 USB ports.

Wrong thread incidentally - this is for the HD FOX T2.
