If it is possible to stream foxsat recordings to a windows pc with VLC player installed using the web interface. Then does the same apply to an i-pad using a browser and VLC installed?

The vlc plug-in has been reported to work with Macs with firefox as browser. Not sure how it is with Safari. Have a look here for some discussion around this:

An important thing is that not only vlc must be installed on your iPad, but also the vlc plug-in for the respective browser.

Secondly fyi this is not compatible with the Foxsat-HDR web-interface user access control (unsername + password) in case you're using it. As I understand it this is because of the way the vlc ActiveX plug-ins are coded.
